Let Them Be (part 2)

I believe that children have an innate desire to learn and be a constructive part of society.

This belief was put into words for me as I read the work of the famous person-centred therapist, Carl Rogers. He believed that every person strives to be a creative, fully-functioning being who desires to reach their potential. This striving is ongoing, motivational, and innate. He named this desire the self-actualizing tendency.

So, be encouraged dear parents, especially as schools are closed and you may be in the unprecedented position of being “responsible” for your child’s education…. Children have a natural desire to learn and live their full potential. You can “Let them be”.
